Where is Syabira Yusoff now?
Born in Malaysia, Syabira Yusoff grew up with a penchant for local cuisine. After earning her bachelor’s degree in agricultural science in Malaysia, Syabira began working as an agronomist for Green World Genetics in September 2012. From April 2013 to August 2013, the reality TV star worked as a research assistant at the Universiti Putra Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. However, her curiosity about the inner workings of plants motivated her to pursue a doctorate. in Genetics. Fortunately, Syabira secured a position in the Department of Plant Science at the University of Leicester in 2013. With her determination, she became a Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics and Genome Biology studying between 2014 and 2017.
From April 2015 to December 2017, Syabira worked as a part-time bioinformatician research assistant/trainee at the University of Leicester. After completing her PhD, she took up the role of Postdoctoral Fellow in Cardiac Surgery Research at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, although she was still affiliated with the University of Leicester, until she left. his post in July 2019. As of August 2019, Syabira has been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Cardiovascular Department of King’s College London.
Currently, Syabira is focused on studying “epigenetic regulation of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) calcification and aging”.
